Jeffrey Wright arrived at the Academy Awards ceremony last night with a look that was groomed for the gods. The star of American Fiction—for which he was nominated for Best Actor honors—sported a Giorgio Armani Made to Measure tux, complemented by another classic look: a clean baldie.
Celebrity groomer Janice Kinjo, who has been working with Wright for 11 years, helped the iconic actor look the part, armed with a slate of Bevel blades and products.
"He is a dream client—he trusts me with his look always," Kinjo tells LEVEL via email. "We keep his grooming very natural. Simple is best and Bevel products were able to deliver a quick, but sharp look... I am deeply honored to work with him on this unforgettable night."
Kinjo says she cut Wright's hair with Bevel's Pro All-In-One Clipper & Trimmer, also using the brand's 2-in-1 Exfoliating Pads, 2-in-1 Pomade, and Beard Oil. "I love how the blade height is clearly shown and it was a quick go from cutting his hair down to trimming his beard, which were different blade heights," she says. "It saved time as we were running short on time."
Wright unfortunately didn't take home an Oscar last night, but he looked every bit like a winner. Kinjo shared some grooming advice for award-worthy at-home 'cuts. "Cutting your hair will make you feel like a million bucks no matter where you go or don’t go," she says. "If you don’t want a too ‘skinned’ look, adjust the blade to lower than 1.0mm and go against the grain. The blade height I used for Jeffrey tonight was 0.8mm."
One more thing: "Beard oil is a must—not only on the beard but mustache, too," Kinjo adds.
The Bevel Pro All-In-One Clipper & Trimmer is available for purchase via Amazon, while the aforementioned Bevel products can be purchased via Amazon, Target, and Ulta.
